Paul Barry-Walsh

Paul Barry-Walsh is a successful technology entrepreneur and is the Co-Founder and Chairman of Frank Investments.

Paul Barry-Walsh was awarded Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to enterprise and charity in 2021.

Paul has been granted the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion and also received a Beacon Award for Creative Giving. In addition, he has won the CNBC/FT European Philanthropist of the year and the Entrepreneur Country inaugural award for the Entrepreneur’s Entrepreneur.

Paul’s early career was at IBM. He left IBM in 1986 to form Safetynet, which went on to become one of the UK’s leading providers of Business Continuity Services. Paul founded Netstore in 1996, which was floated on the London Stock Exchange main market four years later. He sold Safetynet to Guardian IT for £170 million.

In 2001, Paul established The Fredericks Foundation that is now one of the leading microfinance organisations in the United Kingdom having funded over 1,000 new businesses. Paul is also involved in a number of enterprises as a director or investor.
